Good morning!
Another surf shop is closing in Downtown Fort Walton Beach.
Back in February, Fluid Surf Shop closed their store across the street from Burrito Del Sol and moved to their current location on Eglin Parkway. Islanders quickly (re)claimed the building.
Liquid Surf and Sail closed their FWB location back in July, however, the retail space wasn’t all that lost: BOTE moved into the space in September (and it looks amazing!).
Now, DogHouse Surf Shop is closing.
In a Facebook post, owner Don Oliver posted:
We are closing Doghouse Surf Shop on Saturday December 22nd. It’s been a great time and we appreciate all of your support. It’s time now for me and Chris to move on. We will be working on Dependable Alarms and Nautical Real Estate. Come by the shop and see us the close out sale starts today…..boards and hard goods either at cost or below. Clothing and soft goods 50 percent off or more. Everything goes even the racks and fixtures come make offers on all items.
I remember when DogHouse took over the building and had the huge dog mural painted on the side of the building. Was definitely a good addition to the Downtown footprint.
While I hate to see a business close, we wish you the best of luck!

Bikes or Bust officially kicks off
Even though Get The Coast has been pumping out videos for Bikes or Bust like crazy over the last couple of months…it has officially started!
Well, it will today when Bo Reynolds goes up in the lift at Uptown Station.
Our video series is just about over but you might still see the videos being shared through the weekend, but you’ll definitely hear it on the radio and begin seeing activity at Uptown Station.
This is an incredible event and we are trying to collect 3,000 bikes! You can help by donating a bike or, if donating money is easier, you can easily do that at Every penny will go toward buying bikes this weekend!
