Okaloosa Board of County Commissioners will have a meeting this morning at 8:30am at the south end building (1250 n Eglin parkway, Shalimar, FL, 32579)
Here’s what will be discussed:
🗓 Col. James B. Randels Day: The board will take up the request to proclaim October 23rd the official Col. James B. Randels Day. Randels is a 101 year-old WWII, Korea and Vietnam Vet with almost 300 combat missions in 75 different kinds of aircraft. He calls FWB his home!
💉Vaccines: The EMS division will begin administering vaccinations on behalf of the Florida Department of Health with the approval of the commission today.
♻️Recycling: The board will take up a measure which would reverse their earlier decision to send recyclable goods to the Spring Hill landfill and re-up on their agreement with the ECUA to recycle in the traditional manner.
👉New TDC Logo: The tourism development department is going to ask for the approval of the board for the new destination logo for our area. The aim of this rebrand is to energize the Emerald Coast to visitors and bring them in to support our tourism economy.
