On Friday I went out to Maple Street Biscuit Company in Miramar Beach to film a segment for our Experience Series. The restaurant is located just inside the Market Shops at Sandestin and offers “comfort food with a modern twist.”
If you’ve never heard of Maple Street Biscuit Company, here’s a quick rundown:
Maple Street was started by Scott Moore and Gus Evans in Jacksonville, Florida. They opened their doors on November 8, 2012 not only to serve food but to “help people, serve others, and be a part of the community.” Walking into every Maple Street, you should be walking into a culture created around the idea of just that. You’ll notice a lot of community style seating for you to meet your neighbor, or if you are visiting, meeting the locals.
Having spent the morning at Maple Street, I would say that is true! The crew at the Miramar location was extremely attentive to all of the customers and genuinely wanted to have a conversation. In fact, one of the coolest things about how they get to know you involves how to place your order.
Instead of asking for your name, they ask you a question. The question this month is “Who is your favorite actor/actress?” That’s the name they will call out when your food is ready at the counter! It’s just a small way that they can get to know you while placing your order.
Aside from their mission to serve the community, they serve up some amazing food! Just watch the video below to get an idea of what all they offer!
