Good morning!
Describing our area as the “Emerald Coast” has been in existence for as long as I can remember. Even though I’ve lived here my entire life, I don’t know how this area was described before that.
Businesses all over Destin and Fort Walton Beach use some form of “Emerald” or “Emerald Coast” in their name to help associate their products or services with what the TDC has been pushing for years.
But that could change…somewhat.
I’d heard a little while ago that the TDC was planning on getting away from using “Emerald Coast” to focus on something more relevant to Okaloosa County with a brand update.
It’s my understanding that the rebranding is still in it’s preliminary stages and that a stakeholder meeting happened earlier this week with those that contribute directly to the bed tax.
To think about the area not really using “The Emerald Coast” seems a little weird. But that’s probably since that’s what I’m used to.
But what do you think? 🤔
Should “Emerald Coast” be scrapped for something new? Hit the reply button to let me know what you think!
